The Scan Feature in the Choco App allows your customers to find products in your catalogue quickly by scanning a barcode — no manual search by product name or item number required. This saves time and reduces ordering errors.

How To Scan a Barcode – Step by Step
Open the Chat with your customer in the Choco App.
Tap "Start Order".
Tap the Search button at the top of the screen.
Tap the scanner icon on the right of the search bar. The camera opens automatically.
Position the barcode within the camera frame and hold it steady until it is recognised.
The app automatically displays the matching product from your catalogue. Add it to one or more Order Guides or directly to their basket from this screen.
Enter the quantity, add the product to the basket and place the order.
✨ Tips for Better Scan Results
Barcodes in your catalogue must be correctly set up for the scanner to match the right products.
Ensure there is sufficient lighting when scanning.
If a barcode is not recognised, the customer should try adjusting the distance.
The Scan Feature works in both the catalogue and the Order Guide.

What happens if a product is not found?
If a barcode cannot be matched to a product in your catalogue, no results will appear. Please ensure that the barcodes for your products are correctly maintained in the catalogue. In this case, the customer can also contact you directly via chat in the app.
Does the Scan Feature work offline? No, an active internet connection is required. This allows the app to search your catalogue in real time.
