✨ The golden rule: a campaign only gets credit for an order when the customer actually saw or interacted with it before ordering - not just because they happened to buy a featured product.
1. What counts as a View, Click & Add to cart
Term | What it means |
Viewed | The campaign banner rendered on the home page and was visible on screen. When several campaigns share the banner, only the one currently showing counts as viewed — the others count only if the customer swipes to them. |
Clicked | The customer tapped the banner, or interacted with a campaign product (added it to cart / favourites list, or opened its details). Just swiping between campaigns does not count as a click. |
Added to cart / favourites list | The customer added a campaign product (or increased its quantity) to their cart or favourites list. This is one type of click, shown separately in reporting. |
💡 A click always implies a view — a customer can't tap a banner they didn't see. So Viewed is always "Clicked".
2. Featured Section campaigns
Featured Section campaigns are banner campaigns, so they follow the crediting rule above: a customer must have seen (or interacted with) the campaign before an order can be credited to it.
Metric | Definition |
Viewed | Customers who saw the campaign banner. Rate: Viewed ÷ Sent to. |
Clicked | Customers who tapped the banner or interacted with a campaign product. This is distinct from — and a subset of — Viewed. |
Added to favourites list | Customers who added a campaign product to their favourites list. Rate: Added ÷ Sent to. |
Placed Order | Customers whose order was credited to the campaign. Rate: Placed Order ÷ Sent to (conversion rate). |
Revenue (GMV) | Total value of the featured products in credited orders (featured items only, not the whole basket), in local currency. |
"Opened" vs "Clicked": in Featured Section reporting, "Opened" refers to the same concept as Viewed above (the customer saw the banner). Clicked is a separate, later step in the funnel — the customer actively tapped the banner or a featured product. Since a click always implies a view, Viewed/Opened will always be equal to or greater than Clicked.
Does "Placed Order" require the item to be added to the basket from the campaign? No — it's broader than that. An order counts as a Placed Order for the campaign as long as:
the customer viewed the campaign before placing the order, and
the order includes at least one featured product from the campaign.
The customer doesn't need to have added that product to their cart via the campaign specifically (i.e. it doesn't need to be a "Click") — they just need to have seen the campaign at some point beforehand, and the order needs to contain a featured product. This means it's possible for a customer to view a campaign, then add the featured product to their basket separately from the catalogue later on, and still have that order credited to the campaign.
Conversely, if a customer buys a featured product without ever having seen the campaign, that order is not credited to the campaign or counted in its revenue.
How is Featured Section revenue calculated? Revenue (GMV) is the total value of the campaign's featured products across all credited orders — using the products' integrated prices — not the value of the entire basket. Only orders that meet the crediting rule above (viewed + featured product in order) count toward this figure.
How are the rates calculated? All rates use Sent to (the number of customers the campaign was delivered to) as the denominator:
View rate = Viewed ÷ Sent to
Added to favourites rate = Added to favourites list ÷ Sent to
Placed Order rate (conversion rate) = Placed Order ÷ Sent to
3. Preferred Product campaigns
Preferred Product campaigns are also banner campaigns, so the same crediting logic and formulas from Section 3 apply:
Metric | Definition |
Viewed | Customers who saw the campaign. Rate: Viewed ÷ Sent to. |
Revenue (GMV) | Total value of the featured products in orders credited to the campaign (i.e. the customer viewed the campaign before ordering, and the order includes a featured product) — featured items only, not the full basket, in local currency. |
How is Preferred Product revenue calculated? The same way as Featured Section revenue: it's the value of the campaign's featured products in credited orders only. An order where a customer bought a featured product but never saw the campaign is not counted, and the full basket value is never used — only the value of the featured products themselves.
4. Chat campaigns
Chat campaigns (email and in-app messages) are direct sends — the crediting rule is different from banner campaigns: any order placed during the campaign counts, with no prior view required.
Metric | Definition |
Viewed | Customers who saw the Chat message. |
Clicked | Customers who clicked the message or added a campaign product to cart. |
Because Chat campaigns don't require a view before an order is credited, "Viewed" and "Clicked" here describe engagement with the message itself, rather than acting as a gate for whether an order counts.
6. Good to know
Credited to one campaign. Each view, click, and order is credited only to the campaign the customer actually interacted with, so when several campaigns run at once, they don't all get credit for the same action.
✨ Metrics update hourly and continue to update for 7 days after a campaign is sent.
