In this article, you can find the steps to add and remove suppliers on Choco.

How to add a supplier

Choco allows you to send a request to add any supplier, whether they are using our service or not.

Adding a supplier takes just a couple of minutes.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Open the mobile app

    • If you have multiple restaurants on Choco, choose which restaurant you are managing

  2. Select Suppliers in the bottom tab

  3. Select Add supplier under the search bar

    • Only team members with admin roles are allowed to add suppliers

  4. Type the company name of the supplier you want to add on the search bar

    • Suppliers that signed up for a verified account on Choco will show up in the search result and can be added by their existing customers

    • Suppliers that did not sign up for a premium plan on Choco can be added anyway by selecting Add supplierin the tab at the bottom

When your supplier’s profile appears in the search result

If you are an existing customer of a premium supplier, you can quickly create a chat and start ordering with them by following these steps:

  1. Click on the supplier’s profile

  2. Select yes to confirm that you are an existing customer of the supplier

    • At the moment, Choco only supports existing relationships with premium suppliers, hence you must be an existing customer to add them through the discovery feature

    • If you are not an existing customer of the premium supplier, but you’d still like to send a request to add them, follow the process in the section below

  3. Review the supplier’s contact details including delivery days, cut-off times, minimum order value, delivery fee, and delivery areas

  4. Select Add supplier

Your supplier chat is ready and you can start ordering.

When your supplier’s profile does not appear in the search result

  1. Select Add supplier (note: this option only appears after typing something in the search bar)

  2. Type the company name of the supplier

  3. Specify whether you are an existing customer of the supplier or not

    • When selecting yes you will be asked to enter further details such as your customer account number (you can usually find this on a PO or invoice from your supplier) and your suppliers’ contact details.

    • We recommend uploading your order guide to enable you to start ordering with your supplier as quickly as possible

  4. Complete the next steps and select Add supplier

You’ll be notified once the chat is ready!

How to remove a supplier

You should remove a supplier only in the following case scenarios:

  • Your business will no longer work with them

  • You are no longer planning to work with them, but someone in your team is

If you are temporarily not ordering from the supplier but might restart in the future, we advise you not to remove them. However, removing them won’t prevent you from re-adding them in the future.

The best way to remove a supplier is to leave the chat. Leaving a supplier chat means only you are leaving it. Your team members will stay in the chat unless they also remove themselves or a team member with admin or staff roles removes them.

Here’s how to remove yourself from a supplier chat:

  1. Open the mobile app

    • If you have multiple restaurants on Choco, choose which restaurant you are managing

  2. Select Suppliers in the bottom tab

  3. Select the supplier

  4. Select the Settings option (⚙️) on the top right

  5. Before leaving the chat, you should check if you should remove other teammates

    • Select their name and confirm your choice to remove them

    • Only team members with admin or staff roles are allowed to remove and re-add other team members

  6. Select leave chat at the bottom and confirm

You will still be able to view your order history with the supplier after leaving the chat.
